Let's see...the last entry was about my arrival in Addis and I ended by promising to continue with my first night out. Well, after looking for a friend's relative, not finding them at first, then photographing children in the neighborhood where we waited for said relative, we went to play tennis. Actually, my hosts Marcus and Worka played tennis and I was their cheerleader. The courts were at a beautiful community tennis club filled with gorgeous, lush, colorful flowers. The referee for the games was a young boy from the neighborhood who kept score in perfect English and noted each player's faults.
While watching the match I experienced my first reaction to my first meals. Had to go to make urgent run to the bathroom, not in a desperate way, just necessary. Upon my visit to the loo I realized two essential things: it is a blessing to use the bathroom when you want, using facilities you like.
Ok, at this moment I'm at a big fancy hotel in Addis, the Sheraton, which looks like something out of Las Vegas. I am with friends and they need to go and since they are my hosts I must comply. I promise the next entry will be about the night out, plus my most recent trip out to the countryside and to Lake Langano. In a word: beautiful.
